Utah State Parks reports disc-golf growth at Green River park; campsite demand rising

Nathan, the State Parks representative, said the park hosted its largest disc-golf tournament to date with about 100 players, and that the park received grant funding (ORV grants) to add nine holes across Main Street in an adjacent vacant lot, creating a 27-hole course. The park hopes the larger course will attract bigger tournaments and more visitors.
Nathan said the campground is filling on weekends and that the park has hired a new full-time staff member (Renee) and filled seasonal positions for the season. He asked the council to be cautious about safe crossing of Main Street for golfers; county staff and members discussed whether the parcel is state-owned and how to minimize conflicts between parking and river access.
Nathan directed people to the Utah State Parks website for more information (StateParks.Utah.gov). Council members thanked Nathan and asked that the park coordinate any parking or access changes with county roads and safety officials.
