Hideout Town Council votes to enter closed executive session on litigation, personnel, security and real estate

The Hideout Town Council voted unanimously May 2, 2025, to enter a closed executive session at 3:16 p.m. to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation, personnel matters, deployment of security personnel, devices or systems, and the possible sale or acquisition of real property.

Mayor Pro Tem and council member Chris Breyer opened the meeting by calling the executive session: "Okay. This is the Hideout Town Council, Executive Session of 05/02/2025. Calling to order at 03:16PM," and stating the topics to be covered in the closed session. Breyer then asked for a motion: "I need a motion to go into executive session." Ralph Severini moved to go into executive session and Carol Hizleton seconded; a roll call vote recorded all present members voting yes.

The vote followed several minutes of technical difficulties and efforts to establish a quorum, during which staff member Alicia coordinated alternate Zoom links and phone dial-in information for members joining by phone. After the motion carried, council members were instructed to leave the public meeting and join a separate, invite-only Zoom meeting that Alicia had distributed for the closed session.

The council did not discuss the substance of any of the listed topics in the public portion of the meeting, and no decisions or outcomes from the closed session were disclosed in the public record at the time the meeting reconvened to move to the separate link.
