He said Premier Truck (Kansas City) supplied pricing guidance and that Henderson (vehicle outfitter) will finalize the price when the chassis arrive on site.
Hoke said one of the snow-and-ice trucks was expected to be delivered to Henderson this week, with the second possibly arriving the following week. Once the cabs and chassis arrive, Henderson will confirm a final price; Hoke reported Premier had assured him there would be no further tariff-based price adjustments after delivery to Henderson.
The department has already purchased the dump beds and related materials; Hoke said the 2026-model chassis are now being supplied (originally quoted as 2025), so the trucks will be model-year 2026. He described the construction dump as replacing an older unit and said the snow-and-ice truck is an addition to the fleet.
Hoke said the department will return to the commission with a motion for a price adjustment once Henderson confirms the final price after arrival. Commissioners asked about plans for replaced trucks; Hoke said chassis will be sold as full trucks rather than stripping beds from chassis because beds are built to a particular chassis.
No formal procurement vote was taken at the briefing; staff said they will seek a commission motion when Henderson provides the final numbers.
