Cole County Commission approves multiple bid awards, contracts and routine items

Cole County commissioners on April 29 approved a slate of routine procurement and contract items, including a bid award for audiovisual equipment in the commission chambers, a memorandum of understanding with the City of Jefferson covering coordinated sewer and stormwater work in Westview Heights, and several personnel and maintenance contract renewals.
The commission awarded a bid for the commission‑chamber audiovisual upgrade to Will West Music and Sound for $19,743.99 after staff reported five bids were received. A commissioner moved to award the bid; the motion passed with commissioners answering "Aye."
Commissioners also approved a memorandum of understanding with the City of Jefferson to coordinate sewer upgrades, pump‑station and holding‑tank work at Thainan Park and stormwater improvements on South Brook Drive and the 5100 block of Bagnell Drive. Staff said the work will include extensive sewer main relocations, an upgraded pump station, and that the parties expect a roughly two‑year construction and overlay schedule; the MOU calls for cost‑reimbursement to the county for certain engineering and construction work and for partial payment of paving overlays where disturbances occur.
Other approvals included: re‑signing an architect contract for the public works shop expansion; renewing the county medical‑director contract with Dr. Kaywood with no cost increase; approving a contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide biometric screenings for up to 200 employees at $50 per screening (contract not to exceed $10,000); approving a maintenance agreement with Huber and Associates for two Lenovo rack servers used by the sheriff's department; approval of accounts payable pending review; and signing a surplus title for a 2002 Ford used by Public Works.
At the end of regular business the commission voted to enter closed session pursuant to Section 610.021(20), Revised Statutes of Missouri, to discuss existing or proposed security systems. A roll‑call vote was taken and commissioners recorded affirmative votes.
The commission did not allocate new county funding for any of these items at the April 29 meeting beyond amounts specified in individual contracts or bid awards.
