She said the previous administrative permit range of $500 to $1,500 had prompted council concern that it was too high for short-term rental permit processing.
A member of the public, Linda Hooper, spoke in favor of the fee reduction and thanked Pease for her work on the proposal.
After public comment the council moved and seconded the resolution to adopt the fee amendment. The motion carried with all council members voting in favor.
Pease said fee schedules are reviewed periodically and the city last updated the schedule in 2021; staff will bring future updates to council as needed.
