Tavern owners propose joint safety training after 101 Pub incident; police to coordinate workshops

He and other tavern leaders proposed partnering with police and fire to develop training for new owners and bartenders, including practical skills to identify overconsumption, manage medical emergencies and comply with responsible‑server expectations. The Tavern League offered to assist and to collect industry feedback.
Police staff said routine tavern inspections have resumed and the Marathon County health department continues underage compliance checks; the committee was told some violations identified by undercover compliance checks may appear on future reports. Committee members supported informal collaboration and asked staff to coordinate a workshop or training series with industry representatives, the police department and the fire department.
The committee placed the tavern activity report on file and encouraged owners and police to work together on training and safety measures.
