Administration said phase‑2 window film has been completed across district facilities and the bus camera system upgrades are finished. The high‑school shot‑put/discus area was relocated, a new javelin lane added and improvements to the outdoor classroom were discussed; administrators said the changes make it easier to plan a future trail connection from the Blue Branch Creek Trail to the district parking area.
Trustees pressed for periodic “fidelity checks” to ensure classroom and exterior doors are locked; administration and school resource officers said they perform walkthroughs and work with operations staff to repair hardware quickly. The district also reported that classroom phones will be installed and programmed this summer and that emergency operations plan (EOP) updates — including cyber and trauma/crisis response — are being uploaded to the Missouri School Boards Association platform for future training.
On long‑range facilities planning, administration said K‑12 enrollment is projected to remain relatively flat over the next decade and that adding classrooms to existing elementary schools may be preferable to building a fifth elementary school at this time. The board approved long‑range planning documents in the consent agenda.
