Commission grants 6-month extension for H. L. Parker Legacy subdivision developer agreement

The Hooper City Planning Commission voted March 13 to extend the developer agreement for the H. L. Parker Legacy Subdivision for six months, moving the expiration to October 15, 2025.
Staff presented a timeline showing multiple prior extensions: the original agreement dated April 15, 2021, with subsequent one-year extensions. Staff and the developer agreed much of the work remains limited to paving and utility connections; the developer reported gas-line work is underway and that the contractor recommended waiting for better spring weather to complete final paving and sidewalks.
Developer Chris Ott told the commission crews are ready and that the outstanding items are primarily the final pavement and sidewalks once the gas work and other connections are completed. "Plenty" of time was the developers response when asked whether a six-month extension would permit completion.
Commissioners accepted staffs recommendation and approved the six-month extension; staff noted escrow and bonding options remain if work is not completed on schedule.
