Dave Misky of the Department of City Development told the Judiciary and Legislation Committee that the Housing Infrastructure Preservation (HIP) fund has been used for about 60 properties historically and that the department secured an additional $300,000 for the 2025 budget cycle.
Misky said the packet provided to committee members lists $413,000 available this year, reflecting the new $300,000 allocation plus carryover from prior cycles. Department staff are identifying properties that could use HIP funds and determining who will manage the program inside DCD after prior staff transitions.
No formal action was taken; staff said they are coordinating internally to prioritize eligible properties for the 2025 funding cycle.
