The Alva City Council voted to authorize the city business manager to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Alva Tourism Committee and the Alva Chamber of Commerce for tourism services at an annual cost of $45,000, billed quarterly at $11,250.
The tourism commission had taken up the MOU at its last meeting and forwarded a recommendation after a 3–1 vote. The council motion to approve the MOU was made by Greg Bowman and seconded by James Hoffman; the measure carried on a roll-call vote with members present recording “yes.”
Councilmembers noted the tourism commission reviewed the Chamber’s MOU and that the committee had tabled a separate Rotary fireworks request to allow fuller attendance at a future tourism meeting. The MOU approval authorizes the business manager to execute the agreement; the packet described the payment schedule as quarterly. No further conditions or amendments were recorded at the council vote.
