Linda Mason, general counsel and chief people officer for the housing authority, presented the item and identified the easement as tied to the developer easement agreement approved in June 2024.
Claire Murphy, identified as associate director of Mercy, said the easement is required by PG&E "to be signed and recorded in order to complete their portion of the work, which is pressurization and energization." She added, "This will allow us to maintain the gas service for legacy buildings while we're demoing the gas mains that are in the infrastructure area. And that's critical path for both Block 7 and Block 9 to proceed."
Commissioners asked to see the exhibit to the easement (the plat of easement, exhibit B) during the discussion. No public comments were offered. A motion to approve was made and seconded; the commission then took a roll-call vote with Commissioner Mary Anne Pikes, Commissioner Lewana Kim, Commissioner Leroy Lindo and President Joaquin Torres all voting in the affirmative.
Mason said that if the housing authority can get the easement documents to PG&E that day, PG&E planned to begin the work on May 15. The resolution does not specify additional contingencies in the transcript.
