The Oxnard City Planning Commission voted unanimously May 1 to continue consideration of the city—apital Improvement Program (CIP) mid-cycle update for fiscal years 2025 nd'029 to the commission genda meeting on June 5 after staff said a required attachment was missing.
Staff said the CIP update includes roadway improvements, maintenance of public facilities, stormwater drainage upgrades and other projects across the city. "As a result of an attachment being missing from this item, we're requesting that the item get continued to the June 5 Planning Commission meeting for the date certain," a staff member said during the hearing.
The continuation preserves the record while staff posts the missing materials and allows public review before the commission takes formal action. The commission took no public comments on the item and moved to continue the matter by motion; the roll call vote recorded four ayes and the motion passed.
The CIP mid-cycle update is intended to confirm projects' conformance with the City of Oxnard 2030 General Plan and relevant coastal land-use policies as described in the staff report. Staff said the CIP projects vary in scope and funding and are located throughout Oxnard.
The commission flagged no additional substantive questions during the brief hearing. The item will return to the Planning Commission agenda for June 5 with the missing attachment included, per the motion to continue.
Votes at a glance: The continuation motion to June 5 passed 4-0 (Chair: aye; Vice Chair Dr. Stewart: aye; Commissioner Lopez: aye; Commissioner Nash: aye).
