Board adopts consent agenda and three budget transfers; receives legislative letters

At its meeting the Del Norte County Board of Supervisors approved the consent agenda, adopted three budget transfer requests and received copies of letters from the Department of Health and Human Services to state legislators.

Consent agenda: The board moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda and adopted it by roll-call vote. The clerk recorded votes of yes from Supervisors Starkey, Short, Wilson and Chair Borges. A public commenter urged the board to move more items to general business for greater transparency; county staff responded that all consent items are public and may be pulled for discussion.

Budget transfers: The board approved three budget transfers brought forward by county departments: - Budget Transfer 403: $25,000 within the Sheriff’s Office budget unit to cover the cost of post‑academy training for one deputy and recertification for two deputies as part of recruitment and retention efforts. - Budget Transfer 405: $46,627 within the Office of Emergency Services budget unit (purpose specified by OES fiscal manager). - Budget Transfer 406: $149,403 within miscellaneous revenue and expense to support Office of Emergency Services fiscal needs, as requested by the County Administrative Officer and Auditor‑Controller.

A board member moved and seconded the three transfers together; the roll-call vote recorded Supervisors Starkey, Short, Wilson and Chair Borges as voting yes.

Legislative letters: The board received copies of letters the director of health and human services provided to state legislators per the county administrative manual (item 13). No public action was taken on those letters.
