Board approves contracts for two roping events; county to share stall revenue

Bannock County commissioners voted to sign two contracts with Triple T Productions to host roping events at the county complex, including an August World Series date and an additional World Series date this year.
Ben Tibbetts of Triple T Productions told the board the events draw many out-of-town competitors and visitors. "Last year, the August event, we had 1,200 teams that compete competed in 2 days," Tibbetts said; he added that number refers to team entries rather than unique visitors. Tibbetts said the event partnered with county staff last year to manage stall rental revenue: event staff collected stall fees and the county split proceeds 50/50.
Scott Crowther, the county’s event director, said the revenue-sharing arrangement increased receipts and that Triple T staff ran stall operations effectively. Commissioners said the arrangement had worked well and would be repeated for several big roping events.
A motion to sign both contracts for the roping events was made and carried by voice vote.
