Planning commission approves Saint Susan's parcel combination, subdivision and site plan

The Jamestown Planning Commission approved a series of resolutions related to a proposed Saint Susan's project, including a parcel combination, a subdivision creating a 1.63-acre parcel, a negative environmental declaration and site-plan approval.

City staff recommended approval of the resolutions and the commission voted to adopt them after motions and seconds; members in favor responded “Aye.” Two commissioners recused themselves before the votes: one said they are a member of Saint Susan's board of directors; another said they are a consultant for Saint Susan's performing grant-writing work.

Specifically, the commission approved: a resolution to combine tax parcel 33 with parcels 31 and 32 to create a single parcel; a negative declaration for environmental review tied to the proposed site plan; approval of the proposed subdivision to create a 1.63-acre parcel; and approval of the proposed site plan. Staff noted the parcels include a 1960s-era building and a mansion connected by a corridor that staff plans to remove as part of the site work; renderings and floor plans presented to the commission remain unchanged from the prior meeting.

Staff said the city worked with Saint Susan's on both the subdivision and the site plan and that the county planning board reviewed the project and recommended arranging for a CARTs bus for the day of the project activity. A city representative said the staff looks forward to bringing the project to fruition for the city and its customers.

The minutes for the March 2025 meeting were also approved during the session.
