Sharyland ISD on an announced student spotlight recognized Ryo Alvarez, a sixth-grader at Dona Warnicki Elementary, for leadership and extracurricular achievements.

The district introduced the spotlight by saying it “celebrates students who exemplify leadership, service, and the highest standards of moral character.” Ryo Alvarez told viewers he is vice president of his student council, plays the oboe in the school band and participates in livestock showing (noting a lamb and a heifer), horticulture and photography. A district announcer closed by thanking Alvarez and saying he makes the district proud.
