County staff said moving the payroll line into the Emergency Management budget makes it easier to seek reimbursement when the appropriate reimbursement channel opens.
The Emergency Management director told the board that during COVID reimbursements were run through the EM budget and that doing the same for the storm-response payroll simplifies the process. The presenter said the requested $2,060.74 includes fringe benefits but that the final payout would likely be lower than the full amount.
The board approved the adjustment by roll call. Staff indicated the approved funds will allow payment now and that Emergency Management will submit documentation to pursue reimbursement from the applicable funder when that process is available.
