The Lake Havasu City Council voted 5-0 Oct. 8 to recommend that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approve a Series 7 beer-and-wine bar liquor license for Desert Martini, proposed at 2120 McCulloch Boulevard.
City staff member Miss Williams told the council that Laurie McKim had applied for the license, that all posting requirements had been met, that fees were paid and that no objections were received. Miss Williams said the location is properly zoned for a Series 7 license.
Vice Mayor David Lane moved to recommend state approval and Council Member Jenny Coke seconded the motion. The council voted unanimously to approve the recommendation.
The council’s action was a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control; final authority to issue or deny the license rests with that state agency.
Meeting context: the item was taken as a single quick public hearing; no members of the public spoke on the application.
