The Woodstock Planning Commission on May 1 voted to table consideration of a site plan and associated variances for 196 Short Street until its June 5 regular meeting after staff said the applicant submitted redesigned materials too late for a full review.
Community Development planner staff told the commission the project was initially submitted as a site plan but later required variances. Staff said redesigned materials arrived the week packets were prepared and that neither staff nor the Development Process Committee (DPC) had adequate time to analyze the changes. A representative for the applicant was present but did not make a presentation.
Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to table the item to a date certain of June 5. No public commenters signed up to speak on the item before the public hearing was continued.
Tabling the case allows staff to complete a recommendation and gives the DPC an opportunity to consider the revised submittal before the commission issues a recommendation to City Council. The planning commission’s action is advisory; final approval on the project will rest with City Council when the case returns.
