Board approves contract renewals and hires new probationary staff for 2025–26

The PERRYTON ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve presented contract renewals and to hire several recommended personnel for the 2025–26 school year on one-year probationary contracts.
During the meeting, a district staff member identified as Mr. Brown presented the renewals and hiring recommendations. The board approved contract renewals as presented; the motion carried 7–0. The board then approved hiring recommendations for teachers and an administrator, which included Nathan Askins, Angela Manross, Hope Santiago and Braden Reeves for one-year probationary teacher contracts and Logan Estens for a one-year probationary administrator contract.
Board members asked whether offers were contingent on state certifications. Staff answered that some candidates have certification pending and that, if certification is not completed before the school year begins, those hires will be placed on noncertified contracts or similar status as appropriate. The hiring motion passed 7–0.
Staff did not provide additional personnel resumes or salary details during the public portion of the meeting; the board approved the hires as presented.
