Taylor County staff working to assemble documents requested by governor’s audit team

Taylor County Administrator LaWanda told commissioners on April 29 that the county has received a written request from the office of the governor’s audit team for records and financial data and that staff are assembling the materials.
Administrator LaWanda said the county received frequently asked questions and a list of requested documents and that the request covers two years of data. She said staff have asked the audit team for additional time because the response requires a voluminous set of records. LaWanda also reported that constitutional officers in the county will work directly with the governor’s team and submit their records separately rather than routing documents through county administration.
LaWanda said staff have the login required to upload documents and will coordinate with county employees to gather the requested files; she will also ask whether the governor’s team can provide a cumulative county‑level report. The board did not take formal action on the matter at the workshop.
