Salinas Airport Commission welcomes two new commissioners

Chairperson Bennett announced the names of Jonathan Seguil and Brian Contreras and reported they had already been sworn in and were “now official.” Jonathan Seguil introduced himself to the meeting as a Salinas resident who operates the restaurant at the Salinas Airport and said he has been there about nine years. Brian Contreras said he was born and raised in Salinas, currently works as a manager for Pacific Gas and Electric Company and runs a small embroidery and engraving business within the city limits.
A public commenter identified themselves as a fellow airport businessman and praised Seguil, saying he ‘‘is a great asset to the airport’’ and noting the restaurant supports military visitors who use the airport. The commission’s roll call showed Commissioners Bigham, Contreras (Brian), Seguil (Jonathan) and Schumacher present; Commissioner MacGregor was absent.
No formal action was required to swear in the commissioners at the meeting, and the introductions were presented as ceremonial and informational.
