Airport manager says Salinas master plan nearly complete after new FAA reviewer

Two weeks before the meeting the plan was reassigned to a new FAA reviewer at the Airport District Office, and the airport began receiving comments three days later. He described the initial responses as “really benign” with “just a couple questions” and said he expects the document to be finalized and memorialized by June 2025.
The manager described the master plan as the commission’s “living document” that captures current assets and lays out 3‑, 5‑ and 10‑year planning horizons. Commissioners were invited to ask questions but raised none that altered the timeline reported by staff.
No formal vote on the master plan was taken at this meeting; staff reported only on the status of the FAA review and the expected timeline for completion.
