Box Elder County commissioners approve annexations, agreements, tax corrections and multiple funding requests

Box Elder County Commissioners approved a slate of administrative items and contracts during a public meeting that included annexation agreements for Garland, multiple corridor preservation grants, a mental-health agreement for first responders, corrections to the county tax rolls and actions to work with several residents on delinquent property-tax accounts.

The commissions’ approvals included two Garland annexation agreements previously tabled, an agreement with First Responders First to provide employee assistance services, three Corridor Preservation Fund grants for local cities, and an agreement intended to preserve public access to Willard Canyon. Commissioners also accepted the county fee review and a state auditor fraud‑risk questionnaire, and approved corrections to the county personal property tax roll related to a solar farm.

Why it matters: the actions allocate county funding and authorize contracts and land‑use changes that affect local infrastructure, public safety support for first responders and individual property owners with delinquent taxes. Several items authorized reimbursements or matched funding that trigger later execution steps by cities or county departments.
