Anthony Galizia, Revere’s assistant superintendent of water and sewer, told the Revere Board of Health in April 2025 that the city restarted test pitting to identify unknown lead service lines and plans roughly 350 to 400 excavations over the next six to eight weeks.
Galizia said Revere must remove 82 known lead service lines this year to comply with changes to the Lead and Copper Rule and the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements. “We’re scheduled to perform approximately 350 to 400 excavations over the next 6 to 8 weeks to verify those materials,” Galizia said.
