Duchesne County updates road projects, approves approach permits

The update listed specific projects: striping and temporary lines on North Crescent, completion of an approach at Dean Oster’s property, chain-link fence post setting and concrete curing on a project north on 12000 in Yubako, and anticipated paving work in Tallmadge next week. The presenter said a portable crusher remains “high maintenance” but operational.
Commission discussion then turned to two approach-permit applications in Cedarview. One permit was described as residential on a narrow lot with a steep driveway; the other was described as a small office building expected to generate few cars. Commissioner Judd moved to approve the approach permits; Commissioner Kane seconded. The commission voted in favor by voice vote.
The commission did not attach conditions beyond the standard permitting requirements discussed at the meeting.
The county’s public works staff said they expect to continue incremental lifts of recycled material over the next several days and will monitor moisture levels before compaction. No formal timeline beyond the near-term paving and fence work was set at the meeting.
