Josephine County commissioners voted Tuesday to authorize submission of a letter of intent and a readiness assessment to the Oregon Health Authority for funding under an 1115 waiver program, seeking $1,330,000 to expand medical and behavioral-health services inside juvenile custodial facilities.
County officials said the readiness assessment and letter of intent must be submitted immediately — the application deadline was moved forward to Friday — and that the requested funds could be dispersed as early as May. “These funds have to be expended by September of 2027,” Justin Bridal, Community Justice director, told the board.
