Staff said the RFP package will be released promptly and described the procurement approach: three firms will be solicited for the high school and middle school renovations, two of those firms also bid on baseball/softball renovations, and four firms will be solicited for baseball/softball and elementary turf work. The board was told the high school/middle-school proposals will include a per‑square‑foot cost option while the baseball/softball work is structured as a turnkey proposal; firms were asked to provide estimated budgets for each option.
Dr. Newhart and other administrators summarized the review process: cabinet members and invited staff reviewed RFQs and RFPs and a schedule is included in the packet. Staff emphasized the CMAR approach gives contractors "skin in the game" and that guaranteed maximum price (GMP) negotiations will follow selection. The RFP documents include standard AIA attachments and will be legally reviewed before final contracting.
