Trustee Gabbie suggested the board consider an audit of performing-arts equipment at a future meeting. Superintendent Barley (responding to the theater comments) said the district had approved a deferred-maintenance allocation of $500,000 per year and that the maintenance operations manager, David Arriaga, had presented a draft plan that includes theater needs; Barley said the administration would bring that draft plan to the board for review. The board noted the theater is a joint-use facility with the city and expressed interest in restoring it as a community asset.
