Perryton ISD projects state revenue shortfall; superintendent urges tight spending to remain in the black

Greg and finance staff discussed that the shortfall primarily affects state revenue rather than salaries (which comprise the largest expense category). He cautioned trustees the district will need to “tighten the belt” and continue monitoring revenues and expenses through the fiscal year.
Trustees asked for clarification about total district debt when bonds and new issues were considered; district staff noted the question and said they would supply details. No formal budget action or amendments were recorded in open session.
