The Santa Barbara City Council voted 4–2 April 29 to adopt amendments to the city’s tenant-protection ordinance addressing so-called just-cause evictions.
The ordinance, presented as Item 4 on the consent calendar, was moved by Council member Santa Maria and seconded by Council member Sneddon. The roll-call vote recorded Council member Gutierrez, Council member Harmon, Council member Santa Maria and Council member Sneddon as voting yes; Council member Jordan and Mayor Randy Rouse voted no.
