The Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners, sitting as the Board of Equalization, continued its hearing on a property valuation appeal filed by Ironwood Group LLC at the April 29, 2025 meeting so county staff and the company’s attorneys could complete additional fact development.
County staff told the board the matter involves whether portions of the property should be classified differently for assessment purposes. Staff said they are awaiting a listing from the Ironwood Group’s legal team marking the property parcels the company believes should be reassessed; until that is provided and staff can re-evaluate classifications, the appeal is not ready for a hearing.
A commissioner moved and seconded a formal continuance of the appeal “to be determined.” The motion passed on recorded voice votes of “Aye” and “Aye.” Staff said they will bring the matter back to the board after receiving the requested information from the attorneys.
