Julie Bacon, ASBA director of leadership development, outlined the search process ASBA provides, including stakeholder surveys, a position profile, advertising and recruitment, application screening, background checks (including a social-media scan), and support for interview and transition activities. “I know the gravity of the work that you’re about to embark on,” Bacon said, describing ASBA’s role in guiding boards through both full searches and interim placements.
