Jay said he has worked behind the scenes to advance easements, evaluations and other land matters and that the city manager and mayor will need to decide how to handle transition responsibilities.
Commissioners asked what will happen to active projects in the coming months. Jay said he did not want to leave the city “high and dry” and that he and the city manager planned to meet to determine what assistance or handover is needed. He noted the list of outstanding tasks has grown and that some projects may require additional follow-up by staff or council during the transition.
Commissioners and staff thanked Jay for his service. No formal personnel actions were taken at the meeting; the commission recommended the mayor and city manager coordinate transition planning to maintain project continuity.
