During the year the ALC added physical education as a hands-on class. Students said the PE option helped them become more active, socialize and earn credit. The presenter and students listed PE units including volleyball, striking games, soccer, nutrition, wiffle ball, pickleball and yoga.
Career-preparation work included self-awareness activities (the True Colors personality inventory), career exploration across clusters, and a job-search unit focused on resumes and interviewing. Students said staff adapted impromptu lessons — for example, a hands-on communication exercise when internet access failed — to teach soft skills.
