The board also reviewed two bids for demolition/removal of the County Attorney’s building; the advertised bids ranged from a Marbury Excavation quote of $12,650 to JRK Portable Welding at $19,500. On ARPA spending, staff requested approval of a narrow wording amendment to the MOA originally signed for $381,664.56 so that a paragraph referencing the “city of Mound City” instead read “County of Linn.” The board voted to authorize the chair (Jim Johnson) and Public Works Administrator Jesse Walton to sign the amendment. Staff explained the MOA had allocated $137,720.56 for a cell expansion and $243,944 for roll‑off trucks and said copies of receipts and checks had been submitted to the Southeast Kansas Regional Planning Commission for compliance monitoring.
The board voted to enter multiple short executive sessions during the meeting: 10 minutes for trade‑secrets discussion and separate brief attorney‑client sessions for personnel and legal matters. Each executive‑session motion was moved, seconded and approved with a voice vote of “aye.”
