The board approved the consent agenda, which included continuation of a small land lease with Central LTD adjacent to the railroad behind Minerva Primary Center, disposal of school awards and trophies to be made available to community members, and personnel actions including hiring Julia Lowley as assistant principal at Minooka Intermediate School effective next school year.
The board also awarded an asphalt seal-coating contract to Oak Lawn Construction for $141,200. The work will cover identified sections at Minooka Elementary, Jones, Anox Abel and the South Maintenance shed; maps attached to the bid packet show specific areas to be sealed as part of a continuing multi‑year cycle.
Finally, the board approved a purchase order to acquire Wilson Foundations Level 3 materials for third-grade instruction, extending the district’s existing K–2 program to include the third-grade level. The materials include teacher resources and digital access; the board was told student consumables will cost about $4,000 and would be an additional annual purchase.
Votes at the meeting were taken by roll call and each motion carried. The motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the meeting minutes; roll-call tallies were unanimous for the items presented.
The board indicated they will post details on the trophy disposition for community members and will circulate maps and timelines for the seal-coating work. The Wilson Foundations purchase was described by staff as part of a district literacy strategy to provide continuity from early phonics instruction into third grade.
