Seguin ISD says bond construction is progressing; $7.5 million elementary furniture replacement set for summer

District construction staff told trustees the transportation facility pad, asphalt and slabs are complete and buses are moving onto the site. Work on the agricultural science facility is under way and a ceremonial groundbreaking was scheduled for later this month. Barnes Middle School's auditorium, stage rigging and classroom wings are advancing, and the district reported the larger McQueeney project is moving through three construction segments (A, B and C) with about one-third of the overall work complete.
The board also received an in-depth briefing on the bond-funded furniture project for elementary classrooms, offices and libraries. The furniture replacement is part of the Bond 2022 package and the district budgeted $7.5 million to outfit nine campuses. District staff said the plan was developed with teachers, principals and librarians and is intended to create consistent classroom layouts across campuses while honoring existing built-in finishes.
