Mark McLaney, treasurer of the East Aurora Educational Foundation, presented a check for $10,834 to the Aurora East USD 131 Board of Education during the April 21, 2025 public-comment portion of the meeting.
McLaney said the foundation has had a long relationship with the district and highlighted two fundraising programs: a Tomcat affinity card and district purchasing cards. He said the foundation directs funds back into East Aurora High School programs, including a mini-grant program and scholarships. McLaney said the foundation gives 35 scholarships of $2,000 each this year and that the check presented would fund five of those scholarships.
Angie Diaz, identified in the meeting as the branch manager of the Indian Trail office and a 2009 graduate of East Aurora High School, accompanied the presentation and was introduced by McLaney.
The foundation requested a photo with the board after the presentation. District officials accepted the donation on the record.
