Council approves building plans for commercial tenant next to Gustavo’s on US 42

The Prospect City Council on April 21 approved building plans for a commercial tenant building to be constructed at 8907 U.S. Highway 42 next to Gustavo’s restaurant.
Applicant representatives said the building will occupy an existing outparcel and will improve site circulation and parking that currently serves the restaurant. The council heard from Wes Johnson, who represented property owner Estella Reyes and the project team, and learned the plan includes additional parking spaces, improved ingress and egress, and connections to the restaurant’s existing circulation pattern.
The architectural review committee had reviewed the plans and made suggestions that the applicant incorporated into the final drawings brought to council. Council members noted the design and circulation improvements will better organize the parcel and provide more formalized parking than the current informal overflow area.
Council approved the building plans by unanimous roll call. The approval was for the construction drawings as submitted, with the expectation that Jefferson County building permits will follow after the city issues its letter of conformance.
