Staff said a punch walk in the new safe‑room area at Ranch Heights occurred two weeks earlier and that classroom finishes looked good. The district advanced the elevator start date to compress lead time and said site work — including asphalt — was scheduled to begin but could be affected by recent rain.
District staff told the board they expect to begin moving classroom materials into new pre‑K and kindergarten spaces around May 1, using a staged move similar to the Wayside school transition. The move sequencing, staff said, will allow classrooms to be set up in the new areas before summer interior work begins.
On summer projects, principals compiled top four to five requests per site. The district is pricing materials and considering in‑house work by Sodexo maintenance staff for some projects. Examples cited included building a wall in an IT closet and installing dimmable lights in a special‑needs classroom; the district said crews performed some of those items over spring break to get ahead.
Staff identified Kyle Hendricks as maintenance supervisor and said he will serve as a primary contact during the upcoming transition. No board action was required; the report was informational.
