Forest Park Mayor and Council voted April 21 to grant a fee waiver for use of the Star Park Amphitheater for the Jam for Peace festival scheduled for May 10, provided the applicant supplies a $1,000,000 certificate of insurance naming the City of Forest Park as an additional insured.
Jay Francis Springs, representing WIGL Radio and the festival organizers, told the council the outdoor event will feature local artists, church and school choirs, and include an educational job and health fair. Springs said the organizers already carry insurance and requested the city's fee waiver as they have in prior years.
Council action Council members discussed the application briefly and approved the fee waiver with the condition the applicant provide the requested certificate of insurance listing the city as additional insured in the amount of $1,000,000. The motion was approved by roll call.
Ending Organizers will provide the insurance certificate prior to the event; staff will implement the fee-waiver paperwork and ensure city insurance requirements are met.
