Council members and more than a dozen public speakers debated the historic retreat center’s financial losses, maintenance responsibilities and the city’s legal exposure during an extended discussion that followed a staff presentation on the site’s budget and operations.
The city’s presentation showed the facility recorded about $29,000 in revenue and a net loss of roughly $103,483 in fiscal 2024, and that in the current budget year to date revenues are about $55,000 with a net operating loss of $33,301.
