Public Works Director Dan Birvogel (presenting) said the existing underground tanks are 33 years old and that insurance carriers have increased deductibles, prompting the city to remove the underground tanks and install above‑ground tanks on the same property. The tanks will include fencing and bollards and are being procured to be relocatable if a future site change is required. The motion received a voice vote of committee members present and was approved on a recorded “aye” voice vote.
FEMA grant pass‑through to Resilience Authority (SA 3125)
The committee also recommended a favorable action on Supplemental Appropriation SA‑3125, which recognizes $337,500 in federal grant revenue the city received from MEMA/FEMA in error for Jonas Green Park, a county park. Budget staff explained the Resilience Authority is managing the Jonas Green Park project and the city will pass the grant through to the Resilience Authority once the appropriation is approved. Committee members approved a motion to recommend the appropriation; the vote was a voice vote recorded in the committee as favorable.
