Board approves one-day liquor license for 2025 Quincy Pride at Pageant Field

The Quincy City Board of License Commissioners voted to approve a special one-day liquor license for Quincy Pride on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from noon to 4 p.m. at Pageant Field.

Jay Southwood, representing Quincy Pride and the bridal committee, told the board the event will be moved to Pageant Field this year and that “the beer and wine sale portion will be in the same area as well.” He said food trucks will be located near the park bathrooms, with vendors and open space elsewhere in the field. Southwood said Quincy Police will be involved and that private security may also be present.

The board had no questions during the hearing and approved the license by voice vote. The motion to approve was made and seconded on the record; no roll-call vote or individual tallies were recorded in the transcript.

The license allows alcohol sales only during the specified hours at Pageant Field. Board members and event representatives discussed the event setup briefly but raised no objections. The board noted past favorable weather and attendance from last year's event as context for the approval.
