Glens Falls holds public hearing on CDBG funding, seeks input for 2025 action plan

Glens Falls Common Council convened a public hearing Tuesday, April 22, to review 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects and solicit public comment for the 5-year consolidated plan and the 2025 annual action plan, Community Development Director Patrick Dowd said.
Dowd told the council that 2024 marked the 50th year Glens Falls received federal CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and that HUD has invested $22,747,973.09 in the city over that period. He said the city spent $472,105.12 of HUD funds in 2024 on housing-rehabilitation programs, including emergency rehabilitation, and that the emergency rehab program had exhausted its funds.
