Committee formalizes 1-hour parking on East side of 14th Avenue after trial period

The Kenosha Committee on Public Safety and Welfare on April 28 approved a resolution to designate one-hour parking from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the east side of 14th Avenue, covering a stretch described during the meeting as from 15 feet south of 30 Sixth Street to 50 feet south of 30 Eighth Street. Randy Curry introduced the item and said he supported it and could answer questions.
Staff told the committee the measure functions as a cleanup item: the committee previously approved a 90-day trial about a year earlier but the resolution documenting the trial's change did not make it onto the agenda at that time. As staff explained, the resolution before the committee formalizes the change after the trial period and a later review.
A member moved to approve, and after the motion the chair called for a vote; committee members voted in favor by voice vote and the chair recorded an affirmative vote. There was no additional public comment or technical presentation at the hearing.
The resolution will be placed on file with city records; staff did not provide a resolution number in the committee record for April 28.
