Project staff said commissioning of the high‑school solar array has started but the system is not yet producing because it awaits permission to operate from the electric utility and completion of the SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) tie‑in so district staff can monitor output. The board was told one component is still expected from the utility and that the district has been waiting on the permission to operate for several months.
On building systems work, project representatives reported completion of valve and control installations at Eastport Elementary and ongoing BMS (building management system) work. Contractors are finishing punch‑list items at multiple sites: flooring and UV installations at Dayton, bathroom finishes and window deliveries at Eastport Elementary (windows and lockers expected June–July with some lead times extending into August), and casework and cafeteria work at South Street Elementary. The Dayton athletic fields remain in punch‑list status while closeout documentation is gathered from contractors.
For the fitness‑center addition, a groundbreaking and vendor walk‑through were scheduled for the tennis‑court area at 5 p.m. the following day; board members were invited to meet in the boardroom at quarter to 5 before the photo opportunity and site tour.
Project staff also told the board they will prepare to bid another substantial portion of phase‑2 in the coming weeks and that change orders associated with the capital program were placed on the consent agenda for the meeting.
Board members asked for timelines and the presenters noted lead times on materials are affecting some schedules; no formal contract awards were decided at the meeting beyond items listed for a consent vote.
