Council approves consent agenda, sets dates and locations for 2025 ward and city conventions

The Petoskey City Council voted 5-0 on April 21 to approve the consent agenda and to adopt a resolution designating locations and times for the 2025 ward and city conventions.

Consent agenda

The consent agenda — which included approval of the March 17 regular and closed-session meeting minutes, acknowledgment of certain transmittal actions since March 17, the March 25 revenue and expenditure report and the 2025 quarterly investment report, and the Planning Commission’s 2024–25 annual report — was moved and seconded and approved on a 5-0 roll call.

Ward and city conventions

Council adopted the proposed resolution setting ward convention dates for June 16 and the city convention for Wednesday, June 18, both at 8 p.m., and designated typical school venues for ward meetings (with Ward 1 at City Hall). Council member Walker moved the resolution and Council member Moore seconded; the motion passed on a 5-0 roll call. Council clarified that some ward organizers would like doors opened earlier (Walker asked for 7 p.m. access at Sheridan Elementary) and staff will implement the logistics for room setup and notice.
