Board reviews two school-calendar options split almost evenly among members

Members debated which calendar would reduce conflicts with the annual U.S. 127 yard-sale traffic (several members said Option A reduces the number of conflict days) and which would provide more built-in flexibility for inclement-weather make-up days. One board member noted both calendars currently end after Memorial Day in the next school year and that differences in break timing could affect families and staff schedules.
No vote was taken during the work session; board members asked to collect feedback from districts and come to the next meeting prepared to decide. The board also said calendar discussions are not for the immediate school year but for the next academic year.
